  • prozac 40mg if breastfeeding

is it ok to increase from 30mg to 40mg prozac if feeding 7 month old infant x 2 a day?
Was previously on 30mg but anxiety sympoms still persist; alternatively is it ok to stay with 30mg and take an anit-anxiety angent occasionally?
the last question is; what is a sufficent dose of for anxiety? still a lot of breakthrough anxiety and some trouble with sleep on 30mg but hesitant to increase dose.
    thank you.

    hmc:

A dose of 40 mg Prozac (fluoxetine) is the standard normal daily dose. In anxiety disorders, physicians generally use the higher doses, as we know now that higher doses work best for anxiety disorders.

It is beneficial that your infant is 7 months old, as they can easily handle this dose of Prozac. Talk with your physician, but I think a 40 mg dose would be well tolerated by your infant.
