  • Zoloft and baby sleep

    Hello,
I have started 25mg of zoloft while breastfeeding my 5 months old daughter. Is it possible it is making her wake up more, and be more agitated in her sleep? I am supposed to go up to 50 mg, I tried the dosage once and she woke up 9 times that night.
    Thank you in advance

    Madamesam:

Drugs can all have unusual symptoms in individuals exposed to them. What we do know about the antidepressants is that during onset (the first month of therapy), any antidepressant can have unusual symptoms, but these go away with time. The published levels of Zoloft in milk are the least of the antidepressant family. I'd stick with Zoloft for at least 2 months and see how things go. Talk with your pediatrician. It might be GI symptoms in the infant, could be about anything, and not necessarily the Zoloft.
