  • Paxil CR

    Dear Dr. Hale,

I have a 6 months old baby and I?m breastfeeding her 2 or 3 times a day. I was prescribed paxil cr 12,5 per day for anxiety disorder.

    My doubts are:

Should I wait 9 hours since I take the pill? Sometimes she needs to be fed after 8 hours, which would be the peak hour, is that ok?

I have noticed she is sleeping a bit more and better, (within the average of 12 hours as her pediatrician told me). Should I associate this with sedation?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Carolin:

So little paxil gets into breastmilk that we do not recommend waiting after the dose, the small difference in the amount the infant receivers is not worth the effort.
