  • Lamictal and Cymbalta

    Hi,

I just gave birth to a preemie 7 week early baby. I have been taking 30 mg of Cymbalta and 25 mg of lamictal for 5+ years and she was exposed the whole time in utero. She is perfectly healthy she just came early because my water broke premature. She is currently in the NICU and the dr. in charge will not let me breastfeed because of the Lamictal that I take. I know a normal dose is 150mg or way higher than what I take and I understand that 8-18% of the drug crosses over through the milk. He (the Dr.) looked into your research and said it was based all on fullterm babies and stood firm in not letting me breastfeed while my baby is under their care because she is still developing. He said once she gets home she can because she will be closer to her fullterm size. I just wanted your opinion and expertise on the subject. I want to start giving her my milk ASAP and teaching her to breastfeed.
