Dr Hale: We have a mother diagnosed with Thyroid cancer, her infant is 9 months old. Are there contraindications to using Activating Hextose Collaborating Compound and breastfeeding this infant?

    AHCC (Activated Hexose Correlated Compounds)

    Dear Whitney,
Unfortunately we are unable to comment on the safety of this product. Herbal remedies are not regulated by the food and drug administration and therefore we have no way of knowing what exactly is in them. Information on the effects of AHCC on lactation is currently lacking.

Hello, I would like to try using AHCC to clear my HPV, and would like to start as soon as possible. I am currently 35 weeks pregnant. Would there be any side effects from starting this now, or would there be any side effects while breastfeeding? The dosage would be 3g daily. Thank you in advance.

        Bananamoore:

At 35 weeks it is not as concerning as if it were 3 weeks, but this is certainly something you should ask your obstetrician about.

Sorry, I can't give you an adequate answer on this rather unknown product.
