Dear pumpingmom,
We do not have data on how much miconazole (Monistat 3 and 7 day) or tioconazole (Monistat 1 day) enter breastmilk. We do know they are minimally absorbed systemically when used topically or vaginally. Due to the low absorption, it is unlikely that any exposure through breastmilk would be clinical significant in the breastfed infant.
Sincerely,
Cindy Pride, MSN, CPNP
