  • Bactrim & Breastmilk?

Our 6 mo old son takes 1.5 ml of Bactrim daily. Its becoming a fight to give him it with a syringe. He turns his head to avoid and I'm lucky if I get it all in. I'd like to be able to put it in a bottle of breastmilk. Will this compromise the Bactrim or spoil the breastmilk? I also put Vitamin D in one bottle, if its okay to add Bactrim to the breast milk, can I also add it in with the Vitamin D?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi, thanks for your post.

It should be fine to mix these three things together. We can't think of any reason why doing so would compromise the Bactrim, the vitamin, or the milk. Just be aware that babies tend to be really picky about taste and your son may be inclined to reject the milk. I hope that doesn't happen.

Please call us at the InfantRisk Center if this has not completely answered your question.*(806)352-2519
