I am looking for breastfeeding safety information on Telavancin/Vibativ.

    Hi, thanks for your post.

Vibativ (telavancin) has not been studied in babies or breastfeeding women. However, it is a synthetic derivative of vancomycin, which we know to be very safe for breastfeeding infants. Vibativ shares vancomycin's high molecular weight (which keeps it out of the milk) and likely shares its poor oral bioavailability (which keeps it from being absorbed by the infant). This product is *probably* compatible with breastfeeding.

Please call us at the InfantRisk Center if this has not completely answered your question.*(806)352-2519
