    Metronidazole and amoxicillin. Probiotic?

    I am on 500mg metronidazole, 4x daily and amoxicillin 875mg 2x daily for a tooth infection. I'm on day 2 and baby, 4 weeks old, seems very uncomfortable. Is this amount safe? Should I be taking a probiotic as well?

    These medications are generally tolerated well, however, some infants can experience GI upset with them. You can consider using a probiotic while on them or giving your baby an infant probiotic.
