  • Minocycline/Rifampin and breastfeeding a 4 month old

I recently had my pacemaker battery changed out and the doctor used a Tryx pouch that releases minocycline and rifampin over 7 days. I’m currently pumping and giving my 4 month old breastmilk and supplementing with formula as needed. My cardiologist said to pump and dump for 2 weeks because of the antibiotic. My pediatrician said if used less than 3 weeks it’s safe to feed him the milk I pump. Just wondering what I need to be doing and what’s best for my son.

    Thank you!

    Kelli
