  • NingXia Red (Young Living Product) and breastfeeding

I am 3 1/2 months post partum. I have had lots of joint pain since I delivered. I went to the doctor and had some tests done - I tested positive for an auto-immune disease and have an appointment to see an RA specialist in 3 more weeks (that was the soonest I could get in). I have read lots of great things about a product called NingXia Red and would like to start taking it to see if I can get a little relief from my joint pain. I just want to make sure it is safe for me to take while breastfeeding, but of course have not found any research on the product. Anyway you might be able to read the ingredients to see if there are any ingredients I should be concerned about. I understand you can't tell me I'm fine to take it because you are not my doctor, I just was curious if there are any ingredients I should be concerned about. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.

    Ingredients:
Proprietary NingXia Red Blend 29g Ningxia Wolfberry Puree (Lycium barbarum), Blueberry Juice Concentrate (Vaccinium corymbosum), Plum Juice Concentrate (Prunus domestica), Cherry Juice Concentrate (Prunus avium), Aronia Juice Concentrate (Aronia melanocarpa), Pomegranate Juice Concentrate (Punica granatum) Proprietary Essential blend 50mg Grape (Vitis vinifera) seed extract, Orange EO (Citrus sinensis), Yuzu EO (Citrus junos), Lemon EO (Citrus limon), Tangerine EO (Citrus reticulata) Other ingredients: Tartaric acid, natural blueberry flavor, pure vanilla extract, malic acid, pectin, sodium benzoate/potassium sorbate, natural stevia extract.

    Supplement Facts:
Serving Size:: 1 fl ounce (29.5 ml) Servings per container:: About 25 Calories: 20 Total Carbohydrates: 5g Dietary Fiber: <1g Sugars: 2g Sodium: <5mg

    Hi, thanks for your post.

No, nothing on this list stands out as being particularly dangerous. It's hard to say for sure because there is not much research on some of these ingredients. In general, you should be fine taking a supplement if you could theoretically get the same amount of the ingredient as part of a healthy diet.

For anyone reading this, please post again or call us at the InfantRisk Center, (806)352-2519, if this has not completely answered your question. I would also appreciate you filling out a 2 minute survey about your time on the forum:
