  • Tylenol for both Mother and Baby

I am taking Tylenol per the recommended dosage on the bottle and breastfeeding my 6-month old. I'd like to give my baby Tylenol or Motrin for teething pain. Would this be too much Tylenol for the nursing baby?

    Kate209,

The amount of tylenol transferred into breast milk is about 8-24% of your dose. The half-life is 2 hours. Try to take your tylenol and give the baby tylenol at opposite times at least 3-4 hours apart and do not exceed 3000mg in 24 hours.
