  • Topical analgesics

Are any topical analgesics like tiger balm, Bengay or arnica safe while nursing? My baby is 6 months old, and I have a stress fracture in my foot.

    Hi, thanks for your post.

All of these products should be safe while breastfeeding. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommendations about how much and how often to use them. Make sure that you do not expose the baby to medication residues that might be left on your hands or clothing.

Please call us at the InfantRisk Center if this has not completely answered your question.*(806)352-2519
