I know that CBD and breastfeeding has been a hot topic. I was wondering the safety of continuing to breastfeed a 2 1/2 year old and using CBD topically? I have trigeminal neuralgia and looking for some relief. I have a prescription I got today for Gabapentin so wondering if that is safer.

Hi rtkt,
It's hard to give a comparative assessment as we really don't have data on CBD. We've been trying to study it but it's tricky--sometimes there is not any CBD in the product, or there could be more. Your topical absorption of CBD probably isn't great so I don't know how much it would help you. However, the risk to your two-year old with gabapentin won't be high. It has been studied and we consider it quite safe in most circumstances.
