  • Fillers while breastfeeding

I am looking into potentially getting some cosmetic filler, but ive been reading conflicting information online about safety. My baby is exclusively breastfed so im wondering if there is any recent information in addition to what Dr Hale mentioned here in previous forums? Is it at risk to go into breastmilk?

    Abbie:

Most 'dermal' fillers are probably quite safe. They generally consist of : hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-l-lactic acid, polymethylmethacrylate, or autologous fat injections. All of these are resorbed over many months and are quite safe to use.

I wouldn't worry about the use of these above.

Thank you Dr Hale, is it recommended to pump and dump for a timeframe afterwards just in case or should i refrain from feeding for a set amount of time?
