  • About half-life

If the medication that I found in Hale's Medications and Mothers' Milk indicated T1/2 = 3.7 h with L3, how long that I should suggest the mother - she should wait for 3 hours and ... minutes? I did not understand the meaning of ".7" h.
Please suggest. Thank you very much.

    Lactation Clinic,

The .7 is just a fraction of time, roughly 45 minutes, make it easy and round up to 4 hours if you want her to wait a full half-life of the medication.
