  • High Dose Azithromycin

    Hello

I have seen that Azithromycin is generally considered safe while breastfeeding. However, we have clients who will be receiving a single dose of 1mg according to the following order: "Azithromycin 1 g PO is ordered as the first-line treatment of Chlamydia trachomatis."

Would there be any need to restrict breastfeeding as a result of this higher dose?

    Thank you, Carrie
