Hi,
What are your recommendations about breastfeeding after a dose of mifegyne?
I saw that the category is L3
and also I found this article:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20367522

Do you recommend to pump and damp milk after a dose?

Thank you,

miripev,

Mifegyne is rated an L3-limited data-probably compatible. The amount that will transfer into breast milk is about 1.5% of moms dose. Dr Hale said it probably ok to nurse after receiving the medication because of the low transfer, it is most concentrated in the first 4 hours, to be conservative the mom could wait about 4-8 hours to nurse, but it is probably not necessary.
