  • Azothioprine

I'm starting azothioprine for Crohn's while finishing up a (failing) prednisone taper. I will be calling my son's pediatrician to ask about monitoring him. Aside from that, I was wondering if since I've akready gotten my 10 month old used to a 4hr no nursing period for pred, should continue this practice to minimize his exposure to axo/metabolites? I read that azo+metabolites half life is 3-5hrs so it seems worthwhile but if not useful at all, I wouldn't bother. Thanks!
