  • Vyvanse + low dose ozempic

My baby is 5 months old. I only produce about 15 ounces per day, so half of her intake is formula. I currently take Vyvanse and mix my milk with formula to dilute the concentration of the medication in my milk. My baby has had no issues since I started Vyvanse.

I am also soon starting a micro dose of ozempic for inflammation.

Can I continue to pump and mix my milk with formula, or is it safer to give her only formula since I’m taking two medications that arent the best for breastfeeding? My doctors say one thing and my lactation consultants say another.

Everything is dose-dependent. If you are on low doses, your baby is healthy, and half of your baby's diet is provided elsewhere, I doubt there will be much risk. Feel free to call our nurses and talk over your specific doses and conflicting information.

Vyvanse is one of the drugs we are studying right now--if you want to donate milk samples to our research, please fill out the form linked below!
