  • Methotrexate & Breastfeeding 11 month old

I was given a one time 75mg shot of methotrexate seven days ago for an ectopic pregnancy. How long should I wait to breastfeed my 11 month old? She nurses 4 times a day. I have been discarding my milk since the shot.

    Dear Exgomez,

With high dose Methotrexate (more than 50mg), patient may pump and discard milk for 4 days then resume breastfeeding.
