  • Echinacea

Echinacea is an herb that may be used to stimulate the immune system. I was wondering if it was safe to take while breast feeding or while pregnant.

    Thanks for any responses,

    Tony:

Echinacea is not at considered to be toxic and I don't think it is necessarily hazardous to a breastfed infant when consumed by the mom. That said, I saw a good study recently that suggests it is ineffective at stimulating the immune system.

Sorry, but that what the study suggests.
