  • Domperidone Withdrawal

I recently ran out of my domperidone and am awaiting the arrival of more. I've experienced a massive dip in my supply. I'm also experiencing anxiety, sporadic moodiness, being tearful, stomach upset. If someone just stops after an extended period of time, can it cause such side effects? What do you recommend?

It depends to some degree on the dose and duration of therapy, but yes, I have had one other mother who was using a high dose > 90 mg/day for 12 months or so, who had similar symptoms when she precipitously stopped. I do not advise doses above 20 mg three times daily, and then to taper off slowly over a month or so.
