  • Albendazole and breastfeeding of 5 month old child

    hello!
mother has to get albendazole 400 mg twice a day for one day and valacyclovir 500 mg twice a day for 10 days. Can she continue breastfeeding of 5 months old child or there is a need to interrupt nursing?

    OlgaShu,

These medications are both L2's with low transfer rates they should be ok to breastfeed on, monitor the infant for vomiting and diarrhea.
