  • Bactrim DS for UTI, 29 day old infant

Baby was slightly jaundiced a few days after birth. Did not require phototherapy. Has been EBF. Mom started Bactrim last night for a UTI and has been pumping and dumping. Is that necessary? Or can she BF?

    Nursebecky,

As long as the baby is not jaundice now mom can breastfeed. Monitor the infant for vomiting, diarrhea, rash, thrush and yellowing of skin and eyes.
