  • Enbrel and live vaccines

I am breastfeeding my 7 month old and have been taking enbrel for the past 4 months- he is thriving.
However I have recently been advised to delay his vaccination for mmr- measles, mumps, rubella, for at least 7 seven months after I stop breastfeeding. I was wondering if you agree with this as it would mean I should stop breastfeeding immediately and I would like to continue. (He should get the vaccine at 12 months)
    Regards,
    Sinead

    Sinead,

We say it is ok for the infant to receive live vaccines as long as they are not immunocompromised.
