  • Ibuprofen 800 mg and breastfeeding

Is taking 800mg ibuprofen 3xs a day for back pain ok to breastfeed 3 month old? Also taking 10 mg Prozac and Ativan 1 mg 2-3 can a day. Thank you.

    Dschex,

Ibuprofen is rated an L1-limited data-probably compatible. Less than 1% transfers into breast milk. 800mg 3 times a day is ok, just do not exceed 2400mg in 24 hours. Monitor for vomiting and diarrhea, but it is unlikely with such a low transfer.
