Are there any additional vitamins I should take aside from what is in my prenatal? I was advised to take 2000IU of D3 as well as fish oil while pregnant, which I have continued.
I would not recommend any additional vitamins. Fish oil or omega 3 would be OK, but be sure and use a high quality product. Some poor quality fish oil products could contain mercury and other pollutants.
I would not use 2000 IU of D3 during pregnancy. After delivery is when you might want to use additional D3. I also recommend you give the infant 200-400 IU of D3 daily. You can find a liquid preparation of D3 'only' and place the dose on your nipple prior to feeding. I would not recommend iron at all.
