Mom wants to use this on her c/s scar. Baby is 3 wks old. I know that topical is usually poorly absorbed and generally ok and that baby will not be in contact with this. I just wanted to double check and could not find it in the book. When I tried to find it in the old forum, the page wouldnt open up for me. So - here you go! :-) Thanks!!!

    Mederma

    Dear Lindah,
As per Dr. Hale, Mederma topical gel contains the following: Water (Purified), PEG-4, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Xanthan Gum, Allantoin, Fragrance, Methylparaben, Sorbic Acid. None of these products would even be absorbed through the skin. I doubt that it would have any effect on a breastfeeding infant. Hope this helps.
