  • Peeling with trichloroacetic acid during breastfeeding

    Hello,

I am currently breastfeeding a 2,5 year old. He nurses only 2 times a day (morning and evening), it would be easy to postpone breastfeeding for longer periods (1-3 days).
Would a medium peeling with trichloroacetic acid be compatible to breastfeeding in my case?
Also, since I can postpone breastfeeding sessions for longer periods of time, can I safely use the following: a solution made up of 30% Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric) + 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid (Salicylic Acid), a serum with 2% Alpha Arbutin? Are there any data on half-times for these substances?

    Thank you!

    Andreea,

The Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric acids are all probably ok. The Salicyclic acid should be used no more than 1-2 times a week. The Alpha Arbutin contains hydroquinone which is not recommended as it can become trapped in human milk and could cause hepatotoxicity if the infant ingested high levels of this medication.
