  • Valium & Breastfeeding

I have been on Valium since I was 20 weeks along and gave birth to a healthy baby. I am still on it and nursing. My psychiatrist says to continue the medicine, even though I am nursing. But the pediatrician is saying to stop. The baby is thriving and I haven't noticed any adverse side effects.

I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has observed Valium usage during breastfeeding, and how it affected the infant. Or whether there were long term issues.
