  • Clonazepam while breastfeeding 8 week old

My insomnia is at an all time high. Was recommended to take .5 mg of clonazepam a day/ as needed. What are the risks to my baby

    Hi, thanks for your post.

Start with this discussion of clonazepam alongside other anti-convulsants:
    https://www.infantrisk.com/forum/showthread.php?1769-Multiple-Anticonvulsants-and-Breastfeeding&highlight=clonazepam

This drug can cause your abby to be a little more sleepy than usual, but there are no other "hidden" risks. If your baby doesn't show any signs of sedation, you can consider this medication to be safe enough for your situation.

Please call us at the InfantRisk Center if this has not completely answered your question.*(806)352-2519
