  • MRI of breast with contrast

I am to have a breast MRI with contrast tomorrow. The radiology center has said that I must wait 48 hours after the procedure to breastfeed. My child is just over 2 years old. Just wanted to see if this is really necessary? Thank you kindly.

What kind of contrast are they using?

galadium based. Not sure how to spell it. Said they only injected 9 cc's.

Have a look at this discussion. This may not be the exact thing they used, but pretty much all the gadolinium-based contrast agents are the same.
