Hello, I am a lab technician. I work in a lab where rats are exposed to nitrofen and bisdiamine on E8 and I work with the animals 10 days later (E18). I am currently breastfeeding. If I were to use PPE, is there any reason to not breastfeed? Is there a risk to my baby through my milk? Thanks.

If you are using appropriate PPE and have no direct physical contact with nitrofen or bisdiamine, there is no mechanism for these agents to enter your body and therefore no way for them to transfer into your milk.
That said, because there are always some unknowns when handling chemicals, the safest approach is to minimize exposure wherever possible and continue using PPE consistently. Based on what you’ve described, there is no reason to avoid breastfeeding as long as you are using these precautions.
