  • Nifedipine dosage for Raynaud's Phenomenon of the nipples

    Hello Dr Hale & Colleagues

Could you please tell me if dosage recommendations have changed since those stated in a 2004 research article in Pediatrics, "Raynaud's Phenomenon of the Nipple: A Treatable Cause of Painful Breastfeeding" - Pediatrics, Vol 113 No. 4 April 1, 2004 pp. e360 - e364) that recommends 5 mg (3 times daily) or as a daily, 30-mg slow-release tablet.

    Many thanks.

JPH: The current dose is dependent on the older studies, but it ranges from 30 mg/day to as high as 60 mg/day. I'd start with the lower dose and increase according to need.
