  • Exposure to toxic chemicals in laboratory

    Hello,
I've recently started working in a laboratory and will be working with several toxic chemicals on a regular basis, I plan on double gloving, using a lab coat, and wearing a mask when necessary, but I am still concerned about the chemicals getting into my milk. Is it safe to work with these chemicals if I follow the safety protocols? I don't have a complete list of the chemicals that I'll be working with yet, but here are some that I know of:

    Ethidium bromide
    Tris-HCl
    NaOH
    Doxycycline
    Methanol

    Thank you!

Hi! I just wanted to say that I found out doxycycline and Tris-HCl are safe to work with, but I am still concerned about ethidium bromide, and this is the chemical that I would have to work with the most frequently. Thank you very much for your help!
