    Wmom2babies,

Geodon is rated an L2-limited data-probably compatible. The amount that transfers into breast milk is only 0.07-1.2% of your dose. We think this medication is probably safe to breastfeed on because of the low transfer rate, but we do not have any data concerning long term affects. If your infant is not symptomatic now they are probably not getting enough to affect them later. Monitor for sedation or irritability, apnea, not waking to feed/poor feeding, extrapyramidal symptoms and weight gain.

Concerned about Breastfeeding long term with Geodon. My Dr told me today that it can cause developmental delays. My baby is doing well on Breastmilk and he has been gaining weight at a good amount. SO far he has not shown any signs of Geodon withdraw while being exposed to it invetro and being breastfeed. I really want to continue to the three month mark and go from there. My Husband is concerned about the exposer too. I take 40 mg in the morning and 80 at night.
Working...
