Dear Desdes,
Sertraline (Zoloft), peaks approximately 7-8 hours after taking a dose. It has a half life of 26 hours. After you have taken this medication for a about a week the level in your blood will have what they refer to as a steady state. This means you will not have the high peaks and valleys like you would with a medication that has a short half life, you will just maintain a certain level because of the long half life. I hope this is helpful.
Thanks, Sandra Lovato R.N.
