My daughter 8mons old is on solids but still nursing on demand as often as she likes eachs day no bottles. I’d like to start my Bipolar medications again. lamictal likely starting at 50mg getting to 100 per day. Is this safe?

We generally consider lamotrigine safe in breastfeeding mothers. This dose is quite low and we have lots of moms who've used lamotrigine during breastfeeding without problems. Watch your infant for rash, which suggest an allergy to this drug. If you see a rash in the infant contact your doctor immediately.
