Able to breastfeed while on both Lamictal and Keppra

For treatment of Epilepsy I am currently taking 3000mg of Keppra daily and 800mg of Lamictal daily. After delivery of our son next month my neurologist will reduce my Lamictal to 600mg daily which was the dosage before pregnancy. I would like to breastfeed but would like more information about the safety of breastfeeding while taking the dosages of these medications. What are the potential risks?

The doses you have mentioned are in the typical range for both of these drugs. We give both of them an L2 rating (out of 5) ("Safer") with regard to their safety in breastfeeding. Details are discussed elsewhere in the forum.
