Presently we have a mother of a former 26 week preemie who is now 4 weeks old. She has received an injection into her eye of Avastin last evening. According to your book providing breast milk is contraindicated. The mother has informed me that the retinal specialist uses this medication in babies. Thoughts on if we need to hold off on giving the baby her milk? I am going to speak to the neonatologist as well as the retinal specialist.
Thank you,
Lori
