  • Need some help! Desperate!

    Hello,

I am currently 11 weeks postpartum. I ended up with an infection from my C-section at 8 weeks postpartum and finished a course of Keflex a week ago. The infection is back, and now I'm worried about which antibiotics they are going to put me on next since I'm exclusively breastfeeding. I'm allergic to amoxicillin - it gives me hives. What are some other antibiotics that will work without me having to pump and dump and use formula?

I am also prone to thrush, and despite taking probiotics I ended up with it and my baby got a yeast infection, but I imagine I will run into that with any antibiotic...

    Please help! Thanks in advance...

    Jojopuff:

Most any penicillin or cephalosporin is ok for breastfeeding. Clindamycin may be a good choice for your as this is probably a resistant staph. But I'd suggest you ask them which one they are going to use and then call us.
