    Hi Dr. Hale
Looking for information on etoricoxib use for a mom who is still mostly breastfeeding a nine month old.
    Many thanks

    Maaynay:

Etoricoxib is an NSAID, similar to the Cox-2 inhibitors celecoxib, etc. Although we do not have data on this individual drug, most in this category produce very poor milk levels. They are all highly protein bound, and quite polar, thus their levels in milk are almost always low.

I'd suggest this product is probably safe to use, particularly since you are 9 months postpartum. Just observe for changes in bowel habits, watery diarrhea, or gut symptoms. They are quite unlikely, but just be forewarned.
