Is Alprazolam safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers?

  • #2
Although alprazolam is a safe antidepressant to use for most people, it is one of the drugs that should be avoided during pregnancy. It is considered a class D drug by the USFDA. There are a lot of risks in taking this while pregnant, especially in the first trimester.

Thanks. Are there any medications that are safer to use?

        Marimar2:

This really depends on what syndrome you are treating. If an anxiety disorder, then Sertraline (Zoloft) would be prefered during pregnancy.

        Talk with your doctor.
