    I have been prescribed a single dose of fluconazole, can i continue breastfeeding?

    Fluconazole is rated an L2-limited data-probably compatible. The amount transferred into breast milk is 16.4-21.5% of your dose. [COLOR=#333333][FONT=lucida grande]Transfer into milk is moderate, however no untoward effects have been reported in breastfed infants. Probably safe to use in breastfeeding mothers. Avoid the first 2 hours after taking the medication as this is when it is most concentrated in the milk. Monitor the infant for vomiting and diarrhea.
