  • breastfeeding and triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% for eczema

I was recently prescribed triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% for eczema I have on my forearm, the prescription says to apply topically twice a day for 2 weeks. I am currently breastfeeding my 7 month old and just want to confirm this is safe to use. My dermatologist also recommended covering the area after applying the topical to avoid getting it on my daughter.

I'd suggest the risk of topical triamcinolone is minimal, but your dermatologist is correct, try not to get it on your infant. But even here its been used directly on infants in the past without problems.
