Hi, I'm wondering about Sulfasalazine and breastfeeding. This med is my only current option for treatment at this time. My six month old doesn't take a bottle well, when at all. My rheum will not prescribe sulfasalazine until I wean. Is this necessary?? From my research, it's not and this med is generally considered safe while breastfeeding. Does the risk outweigh the benefits at six months old? Is my doctor right or wrong? I sent her the link and information from the NIH LactMed site. If she's wrong, I'll just find a new doctor.
