    Hi, Im wondering is there a sleeping medication I can take on a long haul flight that is ok with B/F?I usually take a zimmovane-many thanks

    Ativan is an anti-anxiety, sedative medication that would be a good choice while breastfeeding.

    However, if the Zimmovane works well for you, it is acceptable to take while breastfeeding, as well.

    In both instances, the drug is most concentrated in your system approximately 2 hours after taking the medication. You should breastfeed prior to taking the medication, then wait about 3 hours before you breastfeed again. By that time the medication won’t be so highly concentrated in your system.
