  • Vitamin E Topically

Hi - my doctor recommended I try vitamin e vaginally before trying Estrace, but our pediatrician said vitamin E is absorbed and stored and not necesssrily bf friendly - since I'm receiving conflicting information, I thought I would check here. Is topical and/or vaginal use safe, and if so, at what dose? Is it less risky than estrogen creams? Thanks!

    Phunkymama,

I spoke with Dr Hale he does not think the vitamin E would be absorbed in clinically relevant amounts vaginally so that should be ok to try first.

If the vitamin E does not help your situation the Estrace cream is probably ok also, but you would need to monitor your milk supply as it could possibly decrease with this medication.
