  • Breastmilk research question

After a long and difficult conversation with a perinatal mental health expert/psychiatrist, I have decided to seek donor milk rather than breastfeed my baby while taking rather high doses of Effexor and Klonopin. We tried everything else we could think of--especially Ativan--and nothing else works for my anxiety. Daily panic attacks with any other combination of meds. I am just 16 weeks pregnant, so this conversation and all the drugs we tried took place during preconception.

This may seem odd, but someone suggested that Dr. Hale and his team might want a sample of my breastmilk for research. Is this true? Who should I contact about this? Thanks for any information you can provide. I'd really love to help further scientific research on antidepressants/anti-anxiety meds and pregnancy and/or breastfeeding.
